Confidence
Confidence
“Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” II Cor 3:4-6
One of the blessings of the new life that God has given all those whose trust in Jesus Christ alone for their hope of eternal life is that we are now given confidence to minister to others. Because God has made us new creations, because he has given us gifts, because he has given us the Word of God, because he now indwells us with the Spirit of God, and because he chooses to work through us...we have this confidence to serve and minister to others. We are able to speak the truth of the Word of God and the life giving message of the gospel into people’s lives. We can share with them the comfort of God through the Word of God. We can give strength because of the strength that God is giving through us. God can use us to make a real, life changing, differences in the lives of people. Not because of who we are but because of who he is and how he has chosen to use us. We do not speak our words but his words. Words that created the universe and bring healing to souls.
When we were young we set out to change the world. Now, we can. Not because of any wisdom, strength or power of our own. But because God works through us. So why do we hide in our offices? Why do we hesitate to get involved with those who are hurting? Why do we huddle in our houses rather than seeking those who need help? We bemoan the state of our country. We complain about the coldness of our church. We hurt when we see those that we love make foolish choices. We have been given a new life that God chooses to work through. We simply need to put ourselves out there and allow him to use us. Do not share choose to share your own advice but show true love by giving the life giving wisdom of the Word of God. Pray with people. Share the strength that God has given you. Confidently allow God to use you. Make a difference.
