God is Just Sayin'

God is Just Sayin’

My wife likes to use the expression, “I’m just sayin”.  She usually lays this on me when she draws a conclusion about something that cannot be proven and that I disagree with.  Her argument back to me is meant for me to just wait and see.  She may not be able to prove her point but that is not going to stop her from saying it and if it happens...well, then she was right.  I have yet to think of a good comeback for this somewhat annoying line.  If what she says does not come to be, which we never really know because what we were discussing is usually not important enough to remember to see if it does come to be, but if it does fail then her comeback was that she “Was just sayin”.  She says it so confidently and smugly that it seems like it should mean something but I really don’t think it means anything.  But, either way, I have this saying in my head.
For the past several weeks I have been watching and waiting on the Lord.  I cannot share the specifics but I wanted to see if God was going to work in some specific ways.  Ways that I thought he had spelled out in his Word as a general promise but I was not sure how he would work things out.  When these general promises were fulfilled in a group of people, my heart and faith were rekindled once again.  His faithfulness is a rock that we can trust our life to.  Our decisions and priorities can and should reflect his faithfulness to keep every promise that he has ever given.  As I heard of the keeping of his promises it was as if God said to me, “See, I am just sayin’, trust what I have told you.”  With God, I understand that statement.  I know this is vague and it may make little sense to you, but I had to write it.  Just trust what God says…mold your life around his promises.  Just sayin’.

Luke 6:38 – “give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
